1) The Role of Vitamin D in Reducing Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

The aim of this presentation is to make the audience aware of the benefits of vitamin D in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Included in the talk will be an overview of the epidemiological findings regarding vitamin D and risk of cardiovascular diseases, the mechanisms whereby vitamin D might reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and the amount of vitamin D required to achieve optimal serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration

2) Importance of Vitamin D for Pregnant Women and Developing Fetuses

This presentation is directed to the general practitioners and general pediatricians.
The aim of this presentation is to make the audience aware of the great importance of high vitamin D concentrations during pregnancy and lactation.
Included in the talk will be the benefits of vitamin D during pregnancy and lactation, the risks of low serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] concentrations.
Some of the risks of low 25(OH) D concentrations include primary Cesarean section, pre-eclampsia, premature delivery, low birth weight, autism, and birth defects.
The talk will discuss oral vitamin D intake required to achieve optimal 25-hydroxyvitamin D
