I agree with the "one Person used vit. D to cure SAD." I had my Vit. D level checked in a blood test. It was very low. Dr. game me 50,000 iu Vit. D one/week. It took a while (over 6 mo.) for my blood test to get up to low normal for Vit. D. My SAD started to lessen, tho' not as quickly as the "One person's" experience. This year I figured out that I drink too much coffee (2 very large tankards of strong fresh ground coffee/day--which may not sound like so much to some of you). I cut my caffeine to half. In 2 days I was sleeping better and falling asleep quicker. My mood, with less caffeine and 50,000 iu Vit. D weekly is pretty good. It is late November and my usual SAD symptoms (sad, anxious, always tired...) are essentially gone. I will start up using the light box soon. Know that with the light box I only need 20 minutes. Otherwise I get too hyped up. I think we are all unique in finding what works best for each of us. But, Vit. D plus less caffeine does improve my emotional/psychological health.
Suspect that it was 50,000 IU of vitamin __D2__ which is not nearly as good as D3. See Overview D3 vs D2 Would be nice to know how many nanograms the commenter now has.
“One pill every two weeks fights diabetes, cancers, heart failure, and 18 other diseases.”
