Vitamin D Receptor activation can be increased by any of: Resveratrol, Omega-3, Magnesium, Zinc, Quercetin, non-daily Vit D, Curcumin, intense exercise, Ginger, Essential oils, etc Note: The founder of Vitamin D Life uses 10 of the 12 known VDR activators
Resveratrol improves health (Vitamin D receptor, etc.) has the following
- The Vitamin D Receptor can restrict how much of the Vitamin D in the blood actually gets to cells
- Resveratrol is one of 11 ways to negate the Vitamin D Receptor restrictions
- Resveratrol is produced by several plants in response to injury or, when the plant is under attack by pathogens such as bacteria or fung
- Benefits of Reseveratrol, like Vitamin D, appears to be increased when used with other things
- Quercetin and Curcumin in the case of Resveratro
- Resveratrol - liposomal may be best form to increase cellular Vitamin D - Feb 2023
- Resveratrol, which increased Vitamin D in the cell, improves vision – July 2022
- Vitamin D Receptor activation should reduce ARDS associated with COVID-19 - June 2020
- Cognitive decline not helped by daily vitamin D getting to just 30 ng – RCT July 2019
- Resveratrol prevented bone loss associated with T2DM (probably via VDR) – RCT Sept 2018

Resveratrol, a phytoalexin with a wide range of pharmacological properties is synthesised by plants in response to stress, injury, infection or UV radiations. As it is a secondary metabolite with many health promoting properties, various methods employing microorganisms and genetic manipulation of different synthetic enzymes, have been comprehensively studied to increase its production. Its rapid metabolism and low bioavailability have been addressed by the use of bio enhancers and nano-formulations. This flavonoid is extensively researched due to its pharmacological properties such as anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory and immuno-mod- ulating effects. Knowledge of these properties of resveratrol has led to elaborate studies on its effect on diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, ageing, obesity and cardiovascular diseases. At molecular level it targets sirtuin, adenosine monophosphate kinase, nuclear Factor-KB, inflammatory cytokines, anti-oxidant enzymes along with cellular processes such as angiogenesis, apoptosis, mitochondrial biogenesis, gluconeogenesis and lipid metabolism. This review discusses the properties of resveratrol and the different approaches of addressing the unfavourable synthesis and pharmacokinetics of this stilbene. Pre-clinical evaluations of resveratrol on diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular and neurological diseases are elaborately discussed and the underlying pathways involved in its therapeutic activity have been given paramount importance. Following the pre-clinical studies, clinical trials on the same reveal the efficacy of resveratrol in the effective management of these diseases. This review provides an intricate insight on resveratrol’s significance from a dietary
